Happy New year!! I'm pre-dating this entry so I can pretend to be at home while I'm out there painting the town red and welcoming the start of a New year.

I find myself desperately trying to find something to hold on to before this year is over.
What I don't know. Just something to hold on too. 21 years is a long time on earth. If anything, I've certainly grown wiser and more aware of the things happening around me. I admire people who can remain blissfully ignorant of their surroundings and survive.

So many things happen this year. Some too terrible to recall, some sweet memories still linger on. Doesn't really matter. It's all over. No use looking back. We miss all the fun parts of what's in front of us if we always look back.

Sw and gang's HK's tour pic are ridculously funny. For every photo kb has of a back ground Sw has one, and its a pic of a wide angle and a close up one. Kb's million dollar smile managed to rub off on Sw. Kb is really narcissistic, I have to say. I would say Kb has at least a hundred pictures of himself in close up. But I think you have to really love your self before you can love others. Hongkong's sights are mainly high rise and hills.

After a night of bridge playing I'm proud to announce we have four newly converted bridge players. It's really tough to read beginners, they play at cards random and hold on to Aces randomly.

Blur me I left the keys in my pocket and I thought that the keys are locked in the room.
I have a new love for digicams. They are so addictive. Just like pringles, once you start you can't stop. I ended up taking pictures of everything.

I'd like to thank pt for her efforts in organizing this chalet for without her none of this is possible although it was a bit pricy.

It's exasperating enought trying to synchronise the timings of the modules you take with your friends but what are the chances that the information on the website is misquoted and the module you so painstakingly chosen out of the eligible modules has to be forsaken. Damn you Nus-web-info guy

I've learnt my lesson. If anything, you shouldn't skip lunch.It's bad for your health. So this sem I've at noontime free.

Counting down the days My downstairs neighbour is using a drill and fixing his windows with horrid drilling sounds that reminded me of visits to the tooth doctor. I hope he stops soon or I'll be missing my one slipper in the morning tomorrow.

That time of the year where NUS undergraduates scramble to get their modules. Round 0 Starts tomorrow at 0900 again. Cues to all Kiasu people to start placing advanced biddings.It's already mind bogging enough trying to figure out a module that doesn't clash with your timetable. Is that SS law module a good one?

Instant Elation Have you ever jumped from a point of unbearble depression to unprecedented elation?

A while ago, I'm was feeling unbearably depressed at the events that just occured. We should be ever so grateful that Singapore is sheltered by the other neighbouring islands if not we'd have suffered the same fate.I could only imagine the pain and suffering as death toll continues to increase and yes my all so disappointing results. Watching the day after tomorrow doesn't help at all. It only serve to depress me even more. Watching the tides flood the city of LA only serve to remind me how terrible floods are.

Then Kangwei came and talked to me,felt a bit better I just have to work harder next sem. Life goes on. Then I saw my new timetable. Gasp! Instant happiness. I have Tuesday free!! I shall keep it that way.

Checking results via phone is a painful affair, because the lady pronounce the subjects syllaba by syllaba. It's agonizing trying to grasp if that B she pronounced is not a D, and she sounds funny.I vow never to check by phone unless I really have to.

I miss toking to (U)Fred online. Nah had the same (U)waiting for u and he came and talked to me. For half the conversation I thought he was (U)Fred. Luckily, I didn't say anything funny or stupid.

OMG Hatake Kakashi has the same birthday as Jolin!? Is this a coincidence? Maybe I like everyone born on Sept 15?haha.. maybe..

I won't be able to sleep properly again tonight not because of my results like previous night but because of something else. I'm so happy.

Christmas the aftermath. When the Christmas celebrations are over, it's time take down those ornaments and decorations and gear up for the 2005 new year celebration. End of the year always brings happy/sad memories. It makes people reflect what they've done in the past year and make new resolutions for the new year.

Speaking of which I have yet to make resolutions. Being a chronic procrastinator, I shall wait till closer to the end of this year to make any. Maybe I'll do just one.

Today is Mr Macdonalds Birthday. The class of 4E2 has always uphold a tradition to go to the Fountain of Wealth at noon for a gathering. Somehow the people that go will wane due to unforseen circumstances. This year, or rather next year, Jan we're going to his house to BBQ since he's in Singapore. yay BBQ . I love BBQ food.

Christmas Day!! Its finally here!!! Blah. It's just another Holiday. day in day out. Lights up lights down. We're singing Christmas carols now, in a few Days it'd be Auld lang syne Happy 2005. Next next next next week it'd be "dong dong dong qiang, Happy Chinese New year!" Again and again, over and over.

Christmas celebrates the Birth of Christ,the saviour, the lord, perpetuated by some jolly old guy who goes around giving prezzies to lil children who calls himself Santa Claus or St nicks who appeared around 18th century.
IMOH(in my honest opinion), its just another season for people to get together, exchange presents, contact old friends, have fun and drink beer admist the aggravated human infestation at Orchard road during this season, surrounded by dirty four letter words to guys, SALE.

blah no Christmas movies compelling enough to catch. Tinsletown really needs to push for more watchable movies.

I am beginning to sound like the Grinch so, Merry Christmas Everybody!!

Christmas's eve's eve The allure of Stephan Chow attacted a full house. It was the first time I saw a full house for a chinese movie. As expected it was funny, nonsensical and Kong-fu action glaore. Got a Cool Lollipop for the movie from buying popcorns. It's just like the one in the movie.

Orchard Road at night is really beautiful especially during this Christmas season. Somehow my idea of a perfect Christmas is time spent with my girl. But I'm wrong. It's times spent with friends talking about everything and nothing in particular.Met up with my long forgotten Npcc members. Most of the girls were attached and the guys.. well lets just say all but one is unattached.Most is a gross understatement. All should be the term for it i think.
We ate at Nooch at wheelock when in fact we could have eaten at NYDC which is just beside it. Cos i miss the mudpies there.
Earthy Ber and Gm were eating there, wonder if they have good Mudpies....

Marche Gathering Lao Da(Doi) brought his boy along. I thought he was gonna go in with us. He didn't. The infamous googles(dun know his name he's just googles as far as i'm concerned) showed up , I prayed to god he wasn't on the team. Turns out he's not. my prayers worked, thank god.Turns out he's just out doing his Christmas shopping alone.(okay I'm bad but he's weird)

The setting at Marche is quite nice and Christmasy, play my fav last Christmas song. Aquaintanced the rest of the team. I'm so glad i'm on Logistic, nothing to do yet, while the rest of the team slave off on drafts and proposals.Go team leo!The lack of a printer didn't stop wang yang from producing his proposals. Its amazing how creative this guy is. Taking digiphotos from his comp he read directly off the camera. I take my hat off to him.

Now there's no reason not to believe that God is Fair. Weihian's alptitude for making cool silloutte pictures and his sharp tongue makes up for his vectically-challenged self and his presence lifens up the spirit.Lao da went on to blab about her failed driving test. I always wonder how some girls could do that as in letting others know about her life without fear or restraint. Blogging It seems everyone is doing it now. With so many bloggers proliferating, I thought it be appropriate to write something on it.

I notice a lot of difference between local bloggers and those from other countries. Especially those native speakers of English. Their blogs seem to delve into politics and critic on recent happenings rather than personal experiences. Local bloggers tend to blog about their daily experiences and have a flashy website. Perhaps its the age difference that can account for the level of maturity here. Local bloggers tend to be techno-savvy and thus their websites are flamboyant. and are mostly between yrs 10-20 whole those overseas are in their 20s or 30s.Maybe Singaporean youths don't really care much about politics and the things around them, just what they want or have.

How to tell if a blogger is Singaporean
1)You can always tell if a blogger is a Singaporean by looking at the design of the blog. Its hosted by Xanga, blogspot, blogdrive, diaryland or livejournal
2)It contains excruciating details about the person in the profile.YOu see names of schools you recognise. Be it secondary schools, JC or University.
3)it is either in pink purple or red with small tiny fonts you have to squirm to look at. and has a flashy background.
4) it has links to friends. Thirdly, it has a tagboard for people to bitch and chat about non-important stuff.
5) it has a background music of the most popular song on 9.87 or 9.33 that you can't turn off..
6) Quizzes.
7)And if the blogger is a cute young thing armed with a dangerous digicam, you can expect pictures of almost everything on the web. From her favourite clothes to what she ate for lunch to a closeup of herself looking into the camera to her and her girlfriends.

It's pretty easy to start a blog. Just have to go register somewhere, choose a template and write something. Guess the only difficulty to keeping a blog is to keep it up. I've seen it happen one too many times. Maybe some people just can't keep a blog. Notice another thing. Female bloggers generally write longer blogs entries than males. I don't know why. Too much pent up thoughts ? Biological difference?

I think Blogging give your inner thoughts a voice, reveals your hidden nature to others. And you can rant about anything you like and not give a hoot about anyone. In the blogging world, you are your own master. NO ONE can tell you what you can or cannot say.

Random tots 4 days to Christmas. Not really looking forward to it. It's overrated, overhyped, over everything. Its just another season for made for lovers to have a reason to love each other more and shower each other with lavish gifts that show their care.Another reason I'm not looking forward to it is because my family doesn't celebrate it.

Something about New year and year end resolutions that made me think. What's so special about the year end that makes people wanna do resolutions?
To be a better human next year? Maybe.. They never get resolved anyway, or so they say. I heard an interview on the airwaves about getting your resolutions resolved. It about reaffirming your thoughts with other thoughts. Suppose you want to quit smoking. Don't keep thinking you want to quit smoking, because that will make you think of smoking more. Think instead "I want to chew gum" or "I want to go for a swim." Because the brain doesn't think in negative. Say, "Don't think of pink elephant." YOur brain instantly springs a pink elephant. It does not know how to not think of a pink elephant. So the next time you want to not do something, think of something else to replace that thing. As for resolutions that start with I want to do... you're on your own.

"It's for Charity" These are the words that will soften people's hearts up and open their wallets. Was collection old clothes and news paper for Renci hospital yesterday, even though I swear I would never do that again since I was in Secondary school. I was at this house and explained that we're collecting old clothes and stuff for charity. The elder sister, I think who was giving me a bo-chap attitude in the first place sprung with enthusiasm, and got me some clothes and newspaper. It's people like them that made you not think what the hell am I doing here? Hey, as long as I'm not accosted by people on the everyday streets asking me to donate $5 bucks for underprivileged children, I'm all for Charity.

Paul had made reservations for next year Dec 3 to be his wedding at Fullerton, while busying working as a Steward that only flies to Sydney.I wonder how much we have to give him as angpao money if he invites us. One table is like $900+. Weixing got his pink Ic, after 2 1/2 years of NS and staying in Singapore, but it states that he was born in China. Singapore Goverment does not acknowledge Taiwanese people as people from Taiwan but from China. So Singapore does support the One china Policy after all. Meanwhile, all of the commanders are working while the rest of us are poor undergrads who see each other almost every other day prior to this.Nah has extremely long hair and if you look at him from the back, he looks like a girl. Somehow he doesn't want to cut it.

After a seemingly pointless sharing of values and goals session and a finale Music video of Let's get it started by BLack eyes peas, we made our way to Tampines. I haven't been there since I became operationally ready. The place has made some changes since I last been there. Century Square is under-renovation. The lift Lobby has become an entrance. A few of the familar shops we used to see during our nights-out are gone. They made fences so people won't Jaywalk. Changes are for the better I guess. I'll have to check out that place some other time.

I hope we do well in Atec and go to ROC or not at all; Lancer's weather is not a force to be reckoned with.

Ocean's Twelve. Hmm.. Let's just say it's a show replete with a host of A-List movie stars and clever banter that falls short of an actual heist movie. Go if you have lots of time to waste and/or you're looking for something to cheer you up.Come to think of it ocean's Eleven is actually better.

Feeling nausea about tomorrow's briefing. Kinda like the ones you get when you first enter the army except now you know it's inner workings, you are complacent. Plus its reservist for god's sake my first ever recall, its just nothing really urgent. I hope they don't come and brief us about any impending attacks on our tiny island and make us prepare for it.One thing to be happy about. I can wear my Jungle hat again. Once a recce always a recce.

Was wondering if Singapore is really small or is it just coincidence. Fred and I each picked time and place and it happen to be the same timing and place as jm. And whats even more incredible is that we're on the same row. Lolx. Singapore is really small. There are only so many places you can go.

I have a liking(slightly less than fetish actually) for pink-loving girls with extremely cute looking eyes and think that they live in the 21 century fairy-tale love land where it's butterflies and rainbow all over, esp if they go on and on about how wonderfully amazing their princess lifes are.I think they are only indigenous to Singapore somehow. But that still doesn't beat the penchant I have for smart intelligent types who only need words to swoon me over cos I'm such a sucker for beautifully craved phrases.

I have been watching you very closely to see if you have been good this year and since you have, I will tell my elves to make some goodies for me to leave under your tree at Christmas.
I was going to bring you all gifts from the 12 days of Christmas, but we had a little problem. The 12 fiddlers fiddling have all come down with a VD from fiddling with the 10 ladies dancing, the 11 lords leaping have knocked up the 8 maids a-milking, and the 9 pipers piping have been arrested for doing weird things to the 7 swans a-swimming.
The 6 geese a-laying, 4 calling birds, 3 French hens, 2 turtle doves, and the partridge in a pear tree have me up to my sled runners in bird crap.
On top of all this Mrs. Claus is going through menopause, 8 of my reindeer are in heat, the elves have joined the gay liberation, and some people who can't read a calendar have scheduled Christmas for the 5th of January.
Maybe next year I will be able to get things together and bring you the things you want. This year I suggest you get your butts down to the nearest shopping centre before everything is gone.

I didn't write this. I found it somewhere...

Love is in the air... Well for other people anyway. Maybe its the Christmas season or something that makes people want to fall in love. While I was wondering , reading their blogs about how and what is it that they're happy about, Prawns, digicams, New Hps. and nothing in particular. Their random musings about random stuff and little happy thoughts. Little did I suspect this to be a prelude of a relationship. I'm happy for them. I should be. I am, or at least I think I am but why do i feel have a sinking feeling.

Town is filled with people rushing to do their last-minute-shopping and people spreading their couply love around. Takashimaya is now full of cute useless items that can be focibly passed off as christmas gifts. I'd actually liked any of those cute stuff except that they serve no purpose and are purely decorative, plus its really socially unacceptable for a guy to like those things.

I need some sort of escapism. Cheating people online with my mediocre bridge skills with Fred seems to be a good start.

I'm starting to have a craving the tempura at Suki sushi already. Speaking of which, the Engine Committee gonna have dinner gathering at the overpriced Marche. Why are gatherings always held at Marche. Do they like have some sort of contract with gathering people committee. I have nothing against Marche, the food there is great, my crush bought me coffee there. But but.. the food there is great but overpriced. It's pure extorting... Guess if I can't suggest a good place, I'll have to burn my pocket there.

My NY Pe Teacher Mr John Lim has passed away due to a car accident last friday while on his honeymoon.

I still remember how he told us about Ns, how you'd had to complete obstacle course in under 10. How you'd have to complete 2.4 runs after stations on the consecutively when we begged him to let us take it later in the evening, when we're not so tired. He led us in runs, the only PE teacher who would do that, taught us all we had to know about basketball, hockey and soccer.

The security guards being the party poopers that they are, didn't allow us to bring any cameras of any sort into the concert. People that managed to sneak it in were asked from their seats halfway thru the concert to go check it in at the counter.They're that strict. I say If you wanna take picture, take a picture of Jolin first before getting caught. dun take a picture of that guy I forgot his name, think it's Sly.

First off was that guy. He sucks, blah blah blah, sang four songs, of some standard, but I being an anti-sly say it still sucks. dun really rem what he sang onli that some guy behind me was "thinking aloud" for him to get off the stage.. "kaoz ..wo men shi lai kan jolin chang ge de!!"Think he dedicated the last song to Taufik.. which was an jing. Then throughout the concert that guy is like shouting JOLIN!! every 1-2 mins.Think he shouted over 50 times ~at first it was alright.. but it started to get annoying... ~ignore ~ignore ~ignore.

Then Jolin came.Cheers and all. She did her Yoga stance like all her other concerts. Hot hot hot...Then she sang 骑士精神, 海盗, prove it, 做一天的你, 始作俑者, 柠檬草的味道.
"喜不喜欢的愈加表演?"喜欢..She never said a I word throughout, always refering to herself in third person form, i wonder why..Then she said its the first time Jolin came to singapore to do a concert.She had never been to the indoor stadium. She had been to Singapore lots of times before she became a singer and also under the teachings of Teacher Weisong Sisong. Asks do we know who they are.. ~no reply~ Crow flys by~ Okay continues.. where she also met her good friend Stefanie and this other guy called 黄义达 Wong, Yida. Then Yida came and sang 蓝天, 匿名的宝贝 and a third song i dun noe the name..

Then people were shouting for Jolin again.Where she sang 消失的城堡, 假面的告白, 奴隶船.
Then there were some extras dancing and prancing around, where she went to change costume.
where she came danced around.. nice nice sang love love love, 乖猫,看我七十二变, 别闹, 爆米花的味道, 说爱你.

She led us in a karaoke session where we sang some songs which included 红豆 among others..

She then said she will relive some songs when she was still in BMG. Those who know how to sing can sing along with her.She then sang 你还爱我吗 which was her first song i ever know how to sing , 你怎么连话都说不清楚 written by Jay for Jolin and 什么样的爱.

Then some people around 30 came out and break dance around the stage while she went to change costume again..It was wow.. wonderfully amazing.. Spinning on heads.. back flips, stuff breakdancers would do.

She came out and sang 招牌动作 爱情三十六计,You Gotta Know, Show Your Love, Don't Stop
where she told everyone to stand up and sing with her. She was obviously high together with the audience. She danced and pranced around the stage enjoying the cheers of the audience. Thru the song Don't Stop one of her dress strap broke. She was tugging her top to avoid any slip off.
After the song she stopped and said she wanted to tell us a secret, the secret is that her strap broke midway thru the song. She thanked everyone. Clumsily took out a piece of paper, thank mediacorp, Sony,I-magazine.. blah blah blah.. And FANS(screams)!! Then she sang 就是爱 which she said was the last song.
After the song credits were showing...Dancers' name, band member's name and lastly Jolin(screams)...

Then people were shouting for Jolin again.. 蔡依林 蔡依林 蔡依林...She came out again.In the same outfit that she wore when she danced with Jay in Taipei. Then she sang 倒带 in which the mic was screwed up. It was not on for the first 2 lines of the song, but fans were singing to it..
Then while singing the song, she couldn't control her emotions and cried..

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. Its that time of the year again. Where new year resolutions go unaccomplished and new ones are on the way. I never really cared much about Christmas. Its origins are that it celebrates the birth of christ orginally called in old English cristes masse, or "Christ's mass ". It was suppose to celebrate the birth of christ. But thru centuries of evolution, it has become an occasion of christmas card giving, present exchanging, family and old long time friends gathering. As they put it, A season of sharing and giving. Truth is , its has turned into a money making event, where commercial companies seize to make this joyous occasion into a lucrative opportunity.

Like every other year for the past 21 years, I look destined to spend it without a significant other. I'd have gotten used to this solitude but seeing the multitude of couples on the Orchard streets, just makes my heart snow heavier.

I have forgotten where I first got this notion of a white christmas, in the midst of commercials bombardment, internet saturation and songs that seranade of a white christmas. The closest I could get to christmas is probably at Jurong east Ice skating ring, which i intend to visit sometime or another. How I envy people living in places with four seasons, where snow blankets entire areas and children frolic around in red 'christmasy' mood.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas that only exist in my heart.

He's at the pinnacle of his performing career and he forgotten the lyrics. Any one unfamiliar with jay's song would not have notice, he flowed thru the song by repeating the same verse. I feel like murdering him. Lucky for the sharp ears of fellow singaporeans. He lost. Good for him anyways... I wouldn't consider his cat screeching nice...
