The new Econs lecturer teaching the law of diminishing returns obviously doesn't know the law of diminishing attention span. One hour into the lecture the crowd became restless and demanded their deserved break.I don't know whether it's the topic or him or the girl sitting beside me that's keeping me from understanding the topic. I like Tay better even though he is a bit corny.
Crap, physics online is out, maths tutorials are out. No matter how you look at it there is always outstanding work to be done.

Yesterday Sunday went to my cousin Weida's house for his 21st day. Omg He's so popular and there were so many people. I think he brought his whole platoon along, plus JC friends and secondary friends. Including us relatives, I reckoned there are about a hundred people there. Yeah we wanted to smash the cake in his face, but his platoonmates did it first so we just joined in the fun. Yeah we had BBQ food. Woohoo I love bbq.
My 7th aunt is pregnant. Woohoo another cousin to add to the thirteen cousins I already have.

Still in his semi-concious state, dkmagician was rudely awaken by the terribly ugly naruto Cosplay pictures on today's Sunday times life section. There it was Gai, Chouji, Haku and Sasuke. He can't believe anyone would actually want to cosplay GAI.(ROFL) Luckily Kakashi was not cosplayed or he'd have a six-pack due to incessant laughing. Straits times' feature is incredibly slow, considering the fact that japanese anime has been popular since the last decade.

I can't believe I rejected my friend to go watch a movie and stay home to study and watch Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie do a hotel cleaning job at a nudist colony. It's American TV at it's worst. It's like they're all doing it on pretence and there is no realism in the show.Moreover, both of them aren't even pretty.

Gotta love Singapore.
Speaking to overseas friend thru MSN made me think how racial-diversity is actually good for holidays.If there's anything to be desired about our tiny island that fines people for littering, streets fill of inconsiderate people, ridiculously high car and related costs and generally apathetic people population, it's the massive amount of holidays derived from the multi cultural aspect of Singapore.The trade-off for this holidays for us poor students is makeup lectures for CNY on free saturdays that our PM so actively advocates.
This will be the first CNY celebrated since becoming a civilian. I think I'll spend it in the piles of uncomprehensible notes and tutorials. Speaking of which Chinese new year always means cousin's birthday is around the the corner. Have to get him something, What do you get a guy for his 21st? hmmm....
Heard this argument on the radio challenging University students to speak up about the fee hike. This girl from poly mention that some years ago when there was an increase in fees, students from NUS sat out at orchard road to protest. Where are the students now? I mean pls.. we have better things to do than protest about it. I feel that nothing the students do can prevent the fee being raised. What will be, will be. So we were thus quelled down with little resistance to the hike and an PM's justification that we are paid higher salaries after graduation hardly bought me over.One consolation fact remains, it's still less than what SMU charges.

Observations.
Peak hour is not a good time to take buses. I had to wait for 105 for 30 minutes and counted seven 151 buses. Not suprisingly when the bus finally came, it was full. I had to stand there smelling some girl's sweetly scented hair whilst the bus driver attempted to look on to the back to see if there were any more space for people to squeeze in.
When I went to school today, I met this mother and daughter who lived just above us going back to their houses. When I came home today, they were going out instead.How weird.

Enterpising people would buy books,esp physics text specifically printed in big red letterings "NOT FOR SALE IN US" at a discounted rate and ship them back to States to sell them at a lower price than the bookshops there to black markets.

I got David Mayor aka the mumbler for maths tutorials. I'm not amused by the way he mumbles to himself in class. The fact that when he talks,its like he's talking to himself and no one can freaking hear him. How does he manage to teach students from last sem? Crap now I have to actually do tutorials and understand them myself. I should call dean and dethrone him, but why? Yk says he's a nice guy. I agree. Its just that he mumbles. Somebody should give him a mic or something.
Suffering from Naruto withdrawl symptoms. Almost one month and Kishimoto hasn't released the next copy of Naruto. Its driving me nuts.

I must be one of those surviving people that still keep in contact with old friends from my primary school. Those friends are almost a decade old, nine years actually. Gosh that's how freaking old we are. Our diverging lives did not stop us from contacting each other. I swear that Marche has become synonymous with Meeting or Gatherings.

My finalized timetable and missed Idols
Sounding like an absolutely nerdy freak who has no life, I love my timetable!!!
Note not all Nus students have the luxury of having 12-1 free. It just so happens my timetable is that way.
At the risk of sounding like an ignorant person who is unworldly, I've got to admit I've not seen the Classic Pretty woman that shot Julia Roberts to fame. It was amazing. I mean her chemistry with Richard Gere was great! I saw it for the first time tonight after I so unfortunately miss American Idiot(isn't that a green day song), I mean American Idol on 5, catching dinner with unattached Jc frens at Marina who had nothing better to do on a perfectly date-able public holiday except for one, no make that two.
Then again Bittorrent is an amazing invention, you can torrent anything popular.

Finding my Happy

Fatigue
Windows media player upgrade has transformed itself into a same format as I-tunes. I shall uninstall itunes seeing no reason keeping similar copies of the same program with the same functions.

"150 contestants will be culled further in two weeks" elicited an image of Simon taking a shotgun shooting anyone who sings out of tune.
Jia has earned my reverance given the fact that he can answer my physics question despite not reading that module. My reliance on Jia for solutions has escalated to a less than unhealthy proportion. From now on, I shall resolve to finish all the questions myself and not rely on him.
2nd week into the semester and I'm swarmed, backlogged for several days at least. I'm starting to having regrets about cramping all my lessons into 4 days. The 10-6 day weekdays are killing me literally.
It was a grave mistake trying to disprove fred. I was lucky that he has the humanity to retain me my last shred of diginity. Not that his SMU friends know me anyway. Whateva I'm too tired to care.

There is a certain concern that I'll be under-utilizing my concession, given my current 4 day week situation. Trying too hard.
Reading through all my msn messages,I think I'm damn childish. I need to grow up.

I think I'm over-enthusiatic about my work. I just recieved an email saying mathlab is up, the next moment I go and try it. Damn the quiz is not even up. What the hell am I doing? I'm trying too hard. I should relax. I'm stressing myself for no reason.
Those stupid anime drawers upgraded Neji's Hakke hyaku Ni Ju Hashou! from 64 to 128 hits in the anime and he's suppose to move faster now!What do they think it is? upgrading of ram!? Those stupid anime drawers upgraded Neji's Hakke hyaku Ni Ju Hashou! from 64 to 128 hits in the anime and he's suppose to move faster now!What do they think it is? upgrading of ram!? Yeah Singapore Won. yeah. Second time since 1970. Kallang roar, Kallang wave, at Kallang. Lionel Lewis the Singapore goal keeper won the MVP award. I thought his body was too big for his head, Maybe he was wearing protection. I'd thought the goal conceded was kinda on purpose. It would make the Indonesians look bad so they them have one goal. It was really more of a walkover than a win.The Stadium was a pool of red and the small Indonesian allocated slot wasn't even full. They might as well have put the throphy in the dressing room of the Lions before the match.

City state revelation.
Readings from my SSA2211 contradicts my hard fought beliefs of not delving into materials of historic and nationalistic nature.I suspect it's one of the plans of LKY to inculate history of Singapore into future Gundam builders of the nation. Your Gundam has been given rights to land on the lunar off-world colony of the Americans.Can that be confirmed?
Yes it can. I was a bit suprised actually, Nobody thought my gundam can fly to the moon then. So when I was given the rights I accepted it.

Of Free tuesdays.
Having a free day really relaxes the mood. I hobba-ed again today. In which I have decided that Hobbing is a sin. Anyway, played virtual truth or dare on Hobba in which I lied that I bobba a lot of women. It was good clean fun. No harm done. On a good note, I've studied Physics and Read the econs Text. Interesting stuff. Shall read more tomorrow on supply and demand graph.
Why does it not bother me that there are 2 backdoor trojans (netdev.exe) in my computer and that my firewall is the only thing keeping them from sending signals to and fro my computer.

The return to Sch
Hobba is another attempt by people to capitalise on the money of innocent teenagers who only know how to sms. It's a brillant time waster masquerating as Multiplayer interactive chatroom. It's target for people between 14-18. There's actually nothing to do there but waste time and money. I realised I'm too old for that. Maybe I should actually change my nick to something less conspicuous without 83. We have nothing in common except maybe the educational system. But that too differs.So what do you actually tell strangers there?

So I went to the comp centre. Except it's not there anymore. Wtf. and will not be for the next 3 mths, its under renovation OMG Where am I gonna print my notes? Library? Arts? and catfight with the arty-farty people? arghzz
Called Zw wanted to go to his hall and print my notes. Wtf. Busy (DND) I didn't know he was that amorous. I almost puked. Luckily I called first. Go help Pt la.. so free...
Econs was alright. So many people I know take. Familiar faces are welcome. But this is too much! Ber, Lq, Coty, Fuxiangyi, willy, jason howyuan, plus a couple of others. Sighz. The lecturer is damn corny. Reiterated his name so many times, if he's not a Tay, I'd have thrown my sandals at him. Even took photos of the route to his office from the staircase to the corridor to the room to the room number. His lecture was boring, but I think I gonna like econs, cos it's actually interesting. I'm gonna be the first Singapore laureate!! Back off Fred.muahaha
If I strike Top prize in 4d I'll start to believe in miracles.

It's eerie I seem to be able to lose the abiltiy to spell properly. maybe i'm not thinking staight. but i'm perfectly sober. I need to check the word on dictionary.com many times. even typing the add wrongly. dicitionary, bring me to some obscure sight. Fake la what's wrong with me.

Of Tsunami Repercussion
Fish are friend not our food.
Nemo would have been really happy. There is a sudden dip in seafood consumption for fears that the fishes and Crabs might have eaten the bodies of the Tsunami victims.Fishes and crabs eat almost anything there's no way of telling what they could have eaten. The real concern here is that the fishes eat the debris washed down from the waves and become toxic to people. IMOH, I don't really care, as long as I don't know and it's not hazardous to health, I'll still consume seafood. Besides all the seafood that come to Singapore have passed a certain health test. I wouldn't be worried about it. DIE NEMO!

Even if this picture is real, it reflects badly on the mosque. Having the funds to be able to build such a solid structure while the rest of the houses get washed away, is just wrong.
Donor Fatigue
Due to the massive surge of donations to the tsunami victims, $SG30 million to date, to red cross and other organizations like YMCA and some high profiled churches. Charity organisations like renci who need $6 million worth of public funds annually will be holding their charity show to ask for donations from the public will certainly encounter difficulties in getting donations.
Are the money going to good use?
There have been fears that the huge influx of money will be siphoned off by corrupt officals, especially in Indonesia where corruption is like drinking water. Officals have been known to be bribed to hasten the recue work. There is no way to know for sure. except through the promises of authority figures of world alliance of the YMCAs, International Committee of the rEd cross who said they will draw up proposals and budgets to minimise corruption. Corruption cannot be stopped. As long as there are people, as long as there is Greed it will continue to perpetuate. We can only have faith that the money donated are in good hands putting to good use.
Orphans
15 million children are made orphans due to the Tsunami. That's 15 million more children growing up without the love of their parents.
US bashing.
Critics will not miss a chance to bash the superpower given the opportunity. They've done it at the Iraq war, they've done it at the elections. They've done it again!Accusing the US of not giving enuff aid at first, then accusing them of trying to take over the aid operation. It's a lose lose situation for them. ah wateva.
Ethnic/religious Discrimination
Stories non-religious people seeking help at some of the hospitals have been asked to recite Muslims chants or been asked to convert to christian before they can recieve treatment. Some of the Indonesian also refuse to help bury the Indonesian chinese victims in the diaster area. I hope this is just a few isolated cases. In times of disaster people should put aside their differences and help each other.

Due to the massive surge of donations to the tsunami victims, $SG30 million to date, to red cross and other organizations like YMCA and some high profiled churches. Charity organisations like renci who need $6 million worth of public funds annually will be holding their charity show to ask for donations from the public will certainly encounter difficulties in getting donations.
Are the money going to good use?
There have been fears that the huge influx of money will be siphoned off by corrupt officals, especially in Indonesia where corruption is like drinking water. Officals have been known to be bribed to hasten the recue work. There is no way to know for sure. except through the promises of authority figures of world alliance of the YMCAs, International Committee of the rEd cross who said they will draw up proposals and budgets to minimise corruption. Corruption cannot be stopped. As long as there are people, as long as there is Greed it will continue to perpetuate. We can only have faith that the money donated are in good hands putting to good use.
Orphans
15 million children are made orphans due to the Tsunami. That's 15 million more children growing up without the love of their parents.
US bashing.
Critics will not miss a chance to bash the superpower given the opportunity. They've done it at the Iraq war, they've done it at the elections. They've done it again!Accusing the US of not giving enuff aid at first, then accusing them of trying to take over the aid operation. It's a lose lose situation for them. ah wateva.
Ethnic/religious Discrimination
Stories non-religious people seeking help at some of the hospitals have been asked to recite Muslims chants or been asked to convert to christian before they can recieve treatment. Some of the Indonesian also refuse to help bury the Indonesian chinese victims in the diaster area. I hope this is just a few isolated cases. In times of disaster people should put aside their differences and help each other.
The seven year itch?
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have Split.Split as in the operative word here, not divorce. Technically they're still married to each other just that they're not gonna enjoy each other's body anymore, or maybe they have never enjoyed each other before. Brad wants a child but Jennifer is unwilling. Maybe that's what broke them up. Brad's not getting any. Okay this is not a tsunami effect, but this couple looks good together and it hurts me to see them split. No, who am I kidding, seriously I do not give a hoot's ass about them. But I do think Aniston is incredibly cute and Brat sucks as an arrogant Archilles whose death by Paris's arrow was underemphasize in the movie, doing much injustice to the legend. They've been together for seven years and married for four and a half. Could it be a seven year itch? Maybe.

The lost art of Home cooked meal.
If ever you should be so lucky as to grab hold of a modern woman who can whip-up a delicious spread of home-cooked meal, Love her with all your heart and soul.Let's face it. More and more women do not know how to cook even an egg even if their lives depended on it.Yes I know that's a sweeping statement. But unless someone can prove otherwise, I'll just have to stick with that.
My friend was telling me the other day that his girlfriend cooked some indistinguishable food for him to eat. He ate it with a lot of trouble, hiding his horrid expression wishing there were some pot of plant nearby he could dump the food in. Then the dreadful question came. "Is it good?" He forcefully made a smile and nodded saying "yes", not wanting to break her fragile heart. That's when she said "oh then I'll get you some more ok?" (-.-")Ah well, the price of Love is unmentionable. At least he will have homecooked food to come home to after work every day.That is happiness in my eyes.
Have you seen happy tree friends? They've include a host of last year production in their archives. Oh my God. That's so cool.
I'm brimming with happy stuff that I could burst. I think I have coincidentally achieved a state of inner happiness. Life and goodness has become synonymous with each other. I can't explain it. :) I'm just gonna go sit back and enjoy my moment of happiness while it lasts. It's gonna be a stressful/hectic semester ahead.

Lack-ofs and whats-not
Fantasizing about lack-ofs and whats-not does not really help in regulation of the the mood, namely the lack of and ipod mini and what it should have been if I didn't S/U it. And well all the other lack ofs. Ah well. I've been looking at my past shadow for too long and forgotten that there's still a sun in front of me.
What does it feel like to wait for the call/Sms of the person who makes your heart beat at a hundred miles per hour? Could the feeling be described as exhilarating?
If two person are waiting for each other to make the first move, and neither of them does because they're afraid, fear of rejection.
I've developed this late sleeping habit to only sleep just before the strike of two. Even if i'm not doing anything. Luckily I don't have too many early eight o clock lessons this sem.

And they are shamelessly promoting their beef prosperity burger and donating a measly 10 cents for the tidal waves asia fund, for each of this burger sold. I'm like What? Do you know you have to sell 100 burgers have to sell to raise 10 bucks? I can just go NTUC and straight away donate 10 bucks you piece of crap!
Come on, a huge Corporate Organization like Macdonalds, you can do better.
Thursdays nights have become a bore ever since OC ended its first season. I can't stand watching the Bachelor V. That NFL player is absolutely a dumbass. He doesn't talk well, He's not funny. He doesn't have Charisma like the last Bachelor Bob. I don't understand why the girls are swooning over him, besides the fact that he's rich and a hunky piece of meat.
I'm thinking about going back to school. Just because I can taste the all so wonderful Arts canteen food again, and I'm eager to see how my perfect timetable works out. And there's the chance for me to work harder and get the much coveted for As. I can't stand people who speak in a non-chalant attitude about their 4.5 cap, Just fuels my fumes. Going back to school means I have to buy notes which will cost more money and burn my shallow pockets. I just hope I didn't make the wrong choice of taking evolution of a global city state. It sounds nice doesn't it if you repeat it many times. Makes you seem sophisciated,alright I'm shallow.
Does the fact that Xiaxue wrote about religon that the whole blogosphere have to write about it? In case you don't know who Xiaxue is she's the most famous Singaporean blogger @xiaxue.blogspot.com. Yeah They're pretty irritating.But not all of them are like that. Some of them are pretty nice. She's pretty hilarious and truthful to be able to write off a topic like that without incuring the wrath of people but she's ermm.. a bit horizontally challenged. Oh ya did i mention she beats ~Doi~ at bitching handsdown.

Are we really Sheep? Stick to the Culture!
This is an really food for thought. Singapore is cultivating an entire generation of lost sheep. It really has to do with Rewards, meritocracy. Good grades are the rewards, and active thinking and understanding the material just sometimes gets you nowhere. Rote learning gets you the results. Lack of criticism is a disease that is present in all levels of social interaction in Singapore, probaby evolved from the early PAP days. (yeah blame the government that's what we're all good at doing)
I wonder if this disease is local or does it affect students overseas too. I don't study overseas so I won't know. But the PRC students at NUS are pretty vocal.
Since we're on the topic of bashing the Singaporean Education system.
Yeah NUS doesn't return exam papers. FoR @#@%! I don't know. How are we suppose to know what we got wrong if we don't get it back. We all wait for the model answers do not think for our selves. ya that's the case, I see people begging for model answers on forums but get back a "we're in the Tertiary level now, think and work it out yourself" from the lecturer. Then I see people saying the lecturers are lazy, blah blah, not doing their work. It's tough trying to cultivate a thinking society without garnering criticism.
Meet the fockers wasn't quite as i expect. It was funny, but forcibly funny. The plot sucks. Whatda expect from a forced sequel. Go watch it if and only if you're really bored. Next movie to watch : HITCH, stars Will smith. I have no idea when it's opening. Wait b4 that I wanna watch Phantom of the opera. Anyone?
Just saw the next Tim Burton Movie in First ~ Charlie and the chocolate Factory. I can't wait. Stars Johnny Depp. The release date is in July. Sighz
School's starting next mon. I can't wait for the next Sem to start. This is so exciting.Where all the sheep will come together again and follow the Sherpard. baa baa... baa ram you.. baa baa..

Tired , Sick of life and sick(literally)
I was gonna bitch about my lao da ~Doi~ Dun think it's very nice cos she do everything one...so.. not nice la... But I'm damn piss off with her.
For lack of a topic, Fred renounced again. What's new? He's been saying he wants to renounce since he went to SMU.Zhixuan's hitched. They say that getting hitch is the cure for the common man. I beg to differ. Getting hitch is just a cure, but definately not the cure.
Went to Engine O camp Chalet for BBQ again. (I mean BBQ again not the chalet again) XL was the only girl there out of the 20+ committee. I think she's damn poor thing. I see them play risk they all attack her.
I dunnoe whether is the day's events or is Fred's depression getting to me. I feel sick, literally, must be too much bbq/unhealthy food.

Can't we just bid more humanely?
The hour before close bidding, CORS was inaccessible due to the surge in kiasu people trying to see the closing bid for their modules. Tempers flare on msn with nicks of discontentment with the system. It was as if world War III was about to erupt. I shudder to think what would happen at the end of the other rounds after this round 1A. How I wish I was in NTU were bidding were non-existant. What's the use of giving us the illusion of the freedom of choice to decide the modules when only limited modules could be chosen to fit the predetermined timetable.

Gathering at Mac's place
We reached there late. It was raining heavily. I hated the rain. Didn't really want to go. our lives diverged drastically from since we left Secondary school, what more would we have other than the memories we have of each other.But I'm glad I went. Omg I saw Harold. It's been like forever. He looks cuter than ever,and SookYan, Hmm.. I can't find a phrase or a word to describe her, any word I use would do injustice to her,anyway she picked up an american chinese accent during her time in the States, it sounds totally weird, I'm not used to her speaking like that. And all the people I've not seen in like what seemed to be a decade.Well basicially If I've not seen them in NUs they must be in NTU or SMU.I wonder if SMU inculcated this value that the fact they are there is because they're different.

Muted Celebrations
This 1st of Jan is different from past 1st of Jan. In just one week the world is short of some 15 thousand people. 2004 has gone and 2005 is off to a bad start, suffering from the after effects of the killer waves . Prayers and donation drives have been held in place of celebrations and festivities, especially in the east asia region.
