Gotta love Singapore.
Speaking to overseas friend thru MSN made me think how racial-diversity is actually good for holidays.If there's anything to be desired about our tiny island that fines people for littering, streets fill of inconsiderate people, ridiculously high car and related costs and generally apathetic people population, it's the massive amount of holidays derived from the multi cultural aspect of Singapore.The trade-off for this holidays for us poor students is makeup lectures for CNY on free saturdays that our PM so actively advocates.
This will be the first CNY celebrated since becoming a civilian. I think I'll spend it in the piles of uncomprehensible notes and tutorials. Speaking of which Chinese new year always means cousin's birthday is around the the corner. Have to get him something, What do you get a guy for his 21st? hmmm....
Heard this argument on the radio challenging University students to speak up about the fee hike. This girl from poly mention that some years ago when there was an increase in fees, students from NUS sat out at orchard road to protest. Where are the students now? I mean pls.. we have better things to do than protest about it. I feel that nothing the students do can prevent the fee being raised. What will be, will be. So we were thus quelled down with little resistance to the hike and an PM's justification that we are paid higher salaries after graduation hardly bought me over.One consolation fact remains, it's still less than what SMU charges.
Chong Qing Album is out! He's grinning from ear to ear. I think he thinks that no one will buy his album that's why he's using "pleading" tone on the airwaves to ask people to support him.I think that's so pathetic.
