Engin Elections It seems to me that nobody really cares who got in the committee. Whoever that gets in will no directly or indirectly affect me so why should I care? They were rallying outside LT6 today standing on the bench and most of the crowd there knew each other or people running for the council. Students of the faculty doesn't really care that what they're doing and walked pass the area like nothing is happening.

I heard someone(PRC girl) walked pass and proclaimed : “他们在做什么？好恐怖哦。。”　
I almost burst out laughing.

One of the reasons they're just doing this is for formality sake.

Notice that the people running for the council are the people who are more active in the club's activities.

For the other apathetic students, life still goes on.

(Some title) Whoever says money can't buy happiness obviously hasn't been rich before. At the risk of sounding like a shallow idiot, Money can buy happiness! It's sold for 3 dollars a kg. It fights, struggles, bites, pinches, and tries to get out of your grip. But if truly want it, you can grab happiness by the tail, it'll gladly follow you like your own shadow.

And I thought it'd be great. There are just some thing that should not be done, like having a gathering for dinner at Fish and Co and having a linear seating arrangment where conversations between far away parties was virtually impossible. It would probably be the first and last time we'd initiate such a meeting. Most of us would be too busy mid sem. Most of the committee went, except for Wx, Ql and Od! The three O week house Ics. Steph was 2hrs late and stayed for a while. I think she should not have come at all. One's' gotta admit the fact the we have no converging interest now and we'd prob just be on diverging paths a few years down the road. We would not lose contact completely as we would see one another around the faculty. This just adds to the lousy memories I have of the glass house. Plus I'm BROKE!! Spent 60 bucks this weekend! Sighz...

Optimism entry
The gathering was great. Doi's treat! Actually it was more of a subsidy, but nevertheless it was better than paying the full price. The attendance was almost full. Most of us went albeit some "xiao gou xiao mao" who didn't come cos they were probably too busy. Steph was late, nonetheless she came! It was good seeing her! She has been looking positively radiant ever since she left singlehood. I'm grateful that despite the lack of converging interest, we've decided to meet. You can't have too many friends, they say.( or money) The seafood platter tastes incredibly great although I prefer the Manhattan market resturant we had in PS. Looking forward to the next gathering.=xt=!! organise one leh!!

Words are such powerful tools of communication. A change in perspective can change a whole new outcome of how one feels about something. Actually I wrote the pessmistic entry first, then I realise my level of expection is too high. I should learn to take things in perspective and be self-contented. That, in my honest opinion, is the meaning of true happiness.

Must love dogs. Must hate it. I used to like romantic movies but recently I've given up on them , Esp after this movie which happens to star the same guy (John Cusack )as the last one I truly liked was serendipity. Love actually was good too. Bewitched was not that good, although it's focus tends to me more on magic than anything else. I think the reason why people like romantic movies so much is because they can relate to them. Lonely hearts in search of the one true love that beats in sync with them. Hope, that there is someone out there suitable for you.

The movie is just a repetition of most of the romantic types shows that talks about bad dates, bad relationships. It's storyline is largely predictible and uncreative. Dogs don't play a huge part in the movie either. The movie just lacks focus and a clear and concise direction. Although there are some witty banter, but it doesn't add up to much. It's just downright unjust for such great actors (Cusack and Diane) to add such a bad movie to their biography.

Spaced out Feeling rather spaced out, like something is missing. There is no result hype as they're just waiting to do the Male vs Female part at the Indoor stadium. The reunion was rather refeshing, got to hear all the contestants sing again. I especially miss Candyce , I think she just lack support that day, or she might make it into the finals. The amusing part was they invited some of the memorable contestants back to sing a few tunes, my ears were assailed the moment they sang. It doesn't take a rocket Scientist to figure why they were not qualifed.

I've gotta admit I've got a slack timetable. (Midday lessons, lunch, free.) For the past 3 days I haven't cursed about 6-7pm traffic cos I leave so early and traffic has been smooth flowing. School has been rather uneventful. I don't look forward to going anymore. Not particularly because there are some people whom I dislike to interact with but because early wake-ups are such a pain in the ass. I don't even bother to keep on time anymore.
Meanwhile, I totally understand today's Fluids lecture cos I bothered to listen and I was sitting alone and there is noone to gossip to. Yay!

whateva. cant be bothered to think of a title. Every time I converse with * it opened a whole can of worms I've been desperately trying to forget. It throws me in turmoil which contstantly irks me for the rest of the night, while I try to seek escapism in yet another bout of music blasting hoping to forget everything again.

Crapping~ Sometimes I wonder why Singaporean like to quote the PM. It's very stressful being the PM, any word and sentence you say will be scrutinised, regurgitated and reproduced by the media and taken as suggestion or as a joke, in the case of "peanuts" Recently the quote is something like having good service, both on the part of consumers and the seller.

Then came the flooding of the airwaves of asking listeners to call in to report incidents of bad service. Every freaking channel station!! Bad service, It's all around. I was at the coop today buying my text, and the lady behind the counter just threw me the plastic bag when I asked for one. She even gave me a bad face. Maybe the queue is long. But that's no way to treat a customer! No wonder the PM mentioned it. I wonder how he got to knew about bad services. I mean if he goes out everyone will treat him nicely, since he's the PM and all. Maybe he disguises himself like one of those Chinese Emperor that "wei fu chu xun" without his entourage and then he encounters some bad service thus deciding to address it. hmm..

Bought my GEK text.If Yun didnt msg me I wouldn't have gone to buy it. It's *eucking Fxpensive la. I'm gonna have to chew on grass for the next few days. I don't understand the fluids tutorials. Omg, I'm so Screwed. It's the first time I went to a tutorial without knowing how to do any of the questions. I swear the gap between yr1 and yr2 is so huge that it'll make the grand canyon look like a canal.

Mind rambling... One of the things I most hate to do is to meet new people. And you'll have to share the same stuff with him like you did with the last new guy so he can think he knows you better and well enough to share the same stuff back. It's just too much effort. These days I quit trying..

He came an hour late for 6 lectures didn't come for 3 lectures. that's almost all of our lectures cos we have 11 lectures and the lectures he did come is because he was late in the morning and the lecture was in the afternoon.

Rant Rant Rant Rant Rant. Pissed and fed up with Cors, our online bidding system. Today the whole school, an entire cohort, is in front of the monitors trying to login. Everywhere I go I see people in front of the monitor with a huge orange header(nus cors website) trying to access the system. From Nine am, people have been trying to access the system but to no avail. Computers lab filled with desperate people trying to login, people waiting outside the computer labs trying to find a terminal to use. Cors became the common enemy. Have you balloted? became the first question anyone asks when they see a friend. My friend suspects that they increased the cohort intake (1986 year of the tiger), but didn't make sure the server can take the load, resulting in the failure of the system.

I'm just waiting for the news to report on this incident. What a joke.

Somehow this is turning into a finger pointing session. People are accusing NUSSU of not doing anything to protect the welfare of the students. I suppose this is one of the ways the student voice their outrage. If it makes them feel better to "do something" like start an online petition, do it. The administrative side would seriously need to revamp the system.

"NUSSU is responsible for fighting for the rights of the students. But they are keeping mum over this CORS saga, preferring to lay back and enjoy their cushy positions and CCA points.They can't even be bothered to start an official student petition."

Funny remarks:
They should make students pay $2 each time they log into CORS, ala the ERP method. PAY AND PAY!!!

Being the poor impoverish students that we are, selling textbooks became an alternate form of getting the cash back for us. I came to realise that while we're prudent about spending money, the distributers are smarter. Coming out with new editions with little changes just to coax people into buying them. I somehow suspect that the lecturers are in on this to. Every lecture I attended recommended new editions of Texts in which, I suspect , the old editions work just as well. The biggest shock came to me when I realise that one of my modules had the text completely changed, resulting in me not being able to sell off that book.

I must say that I have absolutely no use for the ber photo of which Angela took, of him holding that Blizzard cup. Despite our vehement disapproval, he got it anyway.He even offered to pay full price for the cup and the drink without the drink. What craziness! Call me a prude ,whatever , ber may be a child at heart , but for god's sake just give him the photo, dun give it to us too.

Just watched Wedding Crashers, it's quite a nice enjoyable show lest for the cuss words that keep coming out from all the charactors. Do watch it for entertainment value, the rest of the factors are just okay.

It has always been my opinion that the institution is a gigantic love nest. Recent events have affirmed my beliefs, people are falling in love left and right. Particularly after Fop, which marks the beginning of every 2 semester or one year. That would be the period where people feel most vulnerable and try to find someone to be with. Maybe people are realising that they're getting too old and they need to find somebody to settle down with that contribute to this mass couple get-together. The most inconcievable couples are formed , shocking everybody. Then there was the revelation of the whole get-together story and the realisation that once everything is out in the open, there's really nothing much to talk about.

NDP! Happy Birthday Singapore Whoever said Singapore is under replacement level should be shot. There are just so many little people at the heartlands celebration that you have to look at your way in case you knock down the little ones that are randomly running around.

Then there were a few lightstrike, Broncos, Amx 13..Fired some blanks on the MGs just for the effect that the SAF is erm.. wow....which the poor Nsf are gonna have a hard time cleaning. The people on the lightstrike looked damn sianz.. like some kinda of sad zoo animal being stared at by the public. One of the audience who was trying to take a photo of them in the vehicle shouted for them to wave. Haha poor soldiers..

By the time the thing started the whole place was infested with humans. It's like a bad human infestation! They're coming in from all over. Even if you don't know where the thing is held, just follow the trail waking towards the celebrations.The performance was great!Too bad I was on the left side of the stage. I only saw mInG running out, then dissappear on the far right. Damn, should've stood there at the other end. Later we went to the back to meet him. His hair is damn zai, spiked. He should spike his hair more, it looks damn cool.

Fireworks!! Damn blur cos it's taken on my phone. Suppose to be strips of nice lines but become one whole lump, like explosion.
It's damn cool, the second time I've seen fireworks live, the first time was last year. I don't know why it's so captivating to the people. Maybe because it's beautiful; Transient things are always beautiful.

At this moment, the place I used to call school seem so distant and uninviting. Despite the familiar faces that abound, I couldn't feel the warmness that they exude.I feel jaded about this whole affair. It's going to be the same routine, Lecture, lunch with friends, lecture , long bus ride home. Except there's going to be one subtle difference, Ber is gonna lunch with her instead of us. Of which none of us really mind, except the fact that he runs away half way giving some lame ass excuse to buy dessert when in fact he's having a surreptious meeting with her.

Everyone seems to be in ME, that's not necessary a bad thing. A few reservist Pc and my S1 are in there, few Jc frens few army fren a handful of week comm plus Camp comm plus a few of the councillors. And some more of the frens I got to know last year during lecture.

I feel so lost when new batch of fresh faces come in and I don't know most of them. I have this incessant need to know people, who each of them are. I don't know. It's just an innate instinct I possess to want to do that. But it's not always possible and I end up feeling confused and lost.

I must comment on the amount of cute girls in Engin fac this sem. There are so many! It's like an Arts fac! okay maybe not, but it's okay la..

Everyone's so cute! So week 0 is over and now the lectures are starting soon. Seriously, I have no mood to study and I really need to kick into gear.

Anyway, FOP has been a hell of an experience for me and all the other people in the committee , freshies and councillors alike. I bet everyone made a lot of good friends that will prolly last them throughout the 4 years of university.

It's infested with humans and cute girls.The lead Singer of By definition, the live band there looks f*ing gay. Music there is okay, the toilet's spacious, the crowd's okay. Overall it's great! Except stupid Wq had to leave early so we went back together.

It seems the crisis are never ending and the cock-ups are endless. A last minute revision maths lecture caused by kiasu incoming students has disrupted the o week's plan for a morning of fun at Sentosa and they had to move the games back to cater for the demand to go for the lecture.

I got my module. Haha. I've never felt so happy before. Anyway, I hope it's not a bad module to take cos I'd used quite a substantial amount of points to get it.

Yeah Cors! The complains come pouring in. Ever since Cors can't handle the heavy load when a lot of students try to log in at the same time. Since I got my module, I'm not gonna complain.. hahaha

The day's event has been filled with unexpected misfortunes that led to uneasiness in the atmosphere. Programs head fell down into the drain and broke his wrist and unwittingly jerpordising the programs and his other cheerleading commitment. Log head had to take care of him for a day. I can hardly imagine functioning without the both of them, but it turned out fine anyway. When he returned, it was comforting to note that he still maintained his sense of humor despite his unexpected injury. Treasurer lost her hp at Lt3 which mysteriously appeared in another room where the bags were kept later on.

The one that remained most commendable is our FOP head, she was quite calm and collected throughout the entire process. Even though there were times it seemed she could collapse and break down, she held it up well.
