Leap of faith
A leap of faith can be a terrible thing.
Let me just share this interesting story, read it from somewhere,
Researchers were doing an experiment on behaviour. They put 5 gorillas and a dangling bunch of bananas on a banana tree were in an enclosure. Everytime a gorilla tried to approach the banana tree to get the banana, researchers would hose the gorilla down together with the rest of the other four who didn't do anything. This happened for a few times until, none of the gorillas want to approach the bananas for fear they would get hose down and get wet and uncomfortable.
So they replaced one of the gorillas with a new gorilla who didn't know anything about the hosing and they stopped the hosing. The new gorilla would naturally want to approach the bananas to get it. But the rest of the gorillas knowing what will happen, grabbed him and beat him up as he was approaching the bananas. This happened for another few instances until the new gorilla didn't dare to approach for fear of getting beaten up.
The researchers replaced another gorilla from the orginal four that was left, the new gorilla did the same thing, approaching the banana and getting beaten up by the other four.
This went on for another few cycles and finally the researchers replaced all the original 5 gorillas with new 5 gorillas. None of the gorillas would approach the bananas as they would get beaten up for no reason. None of them knew about getting hosed and didn't know why they would get beaten up for trying to get that bunch of bananas.So now there are just five clueless gorillas who would just stare at the bananas wondering.
I guess the point is question everything, don't just do things because the previous few people do it.

The same thing is happening in lost! Punching the lost numbers into the computer every 108 minutes without knowing what the purpose is is just wrong.
Maybe Jack is right, what if they're doing experiments to see how long people can last punching the numbers every at interval.

You're so damn right. If Bush ran his office like he did, the States would not be in this terrible state. He rattled off something moronic again, saying God asked him to invade those countries. What's new?
