The night is extremely conducive for writing entries, there are no external noises to affect your thoughts and the mood is just right for being pensive.

On less fortunate people
I was on the bus today, and I realised that they were people that are not "guai", so to speak, around. Being in Sec to JC to Uni, I've always gone to the slightly better schools mixed with the " good" kind of people and thus is not exposed to delinquents and gangsters. This girl was talking really loud on her Hp, so much so that everyone in the bus can hear. She was telling this guy, in the phone,(it's a guy because she flirts with him and calls him honey) that she was wondering what to do after N levels, and that she should go into hairdressing. She thens complains about her life, what she did, gone to hostel twice, once for armed assault and another for smoking in school, played gum, Smack k, E and such. How she broke up with her Ex and another.. Pretty dramatic stuff.
Anyway, this made me realised, the world is full of people who lead lives that are more considerbly worst than mine, in my definition. So I shouldn't be so uptight about tiny things not going well for me.

On career choices
The more I think about it, the more I wonder what I was going to do with an engineering degree. I wanna be out on the field doing stuff related to interpersonal relationships, seeing things and events unfold itself, being on the frontline when things happen.I wanna be walking around, snapping photos, bringing news to the people. I want to be a Journalist, cos writing is such a passion to me. I know I wouldn't be content with an Engineering related job even though it could potentially reap in more moolah than the one I proposed. I've heard people saying that you should do a job you're passionate about, otherwise it'll just be unhappy about what you're doing. Then again, life changing decisions cannot be set in motion in a day.

On Life's enjoyment
I really admire foreigners who can afford to take a few thousand dollars after they graduate to tour parts of the different continents, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Beijing.. Places I could only dreamt of going. They do not have the burden of financial liabilities like housing, cars and what-nots, because their housing and cars are simply too affordable. Singaporeans slaved their whole lives just to pay their bills and support their families, when foreigners out there are simply enjoying the great wilderness and relaxing. If given a choice, I would probably migrate to some other country and enjoy the slower pace of life. The standard of living is just too high in our sunnny island to enjoy quality life in my definition.
