Update on my really super duper exciting life!
The Heat transfer Prof whom I suspect have a speech impediment dropped a bomb equivalent to the one on Hiroshima on us. He declared test! The whole lecture which was not paying attention to what he was saying suddenly become quiet. Even a pin drop could be heard. Two weeks from now! 20%! D-day! Kill or be killed!! arghhz I haven even began to polish my bayonet yet. Can imagine the rest of the lecture frantically trying to dish out their attire. Haha..
I predict it'll be Hardy, then Jonathan. Then PAUL AND JASMINE finals!! no surprise there. Then Jasmine will win. take note!! When Jasmine wins I'll quote this blog and say I TOLD YOU SO!! haha. Wonder if Singapore pools takes bets on Singapore idol? haha.

Weather's terrible. Just like my mood these days. I wish for sunny days and no more nightmares to brighten up my day! No more Scandals please. Human relations are such complicated affairs. A week ago one of my beloved juniors actually introed me to a freshman called May, who had a bit of a problem orientating around NUS.
Guess the moral of the story: PLEASE JOIN ORIENTATION CAMPS IF U ARE COMING TO NUS
Although u hate the cheering (as much as I do) and u hate the late night sleeps (me too) and the constant energizing urself when u dont have that energy anymore(yup, same frequency as me). STILL JOIN ORIENTATION CAMPS
You'll find nice seniors like me to help u and talk to u and make friends with you =)
So in the end I took an hr to teach her how to use the NUS computers to print notes, how to borrow RBR books, and where is YIH, Engine, and some tips. Left her going off with a happy note.
Sometimes helping ppl is good. But sometimes I hope I can influence others with the spirit, not just helping, but influencing them to help
I hope as much as people r helped by me. U r blessed!! =) So bless one other person now!

Ask a Librarian.
Had an ask a librarian session today. It was rather insightful. The librarian is like a search GOD. She can search for anything using proximity operators. She taught the use of using these search functions on search Engines. I didn't know you could do that. It's so amazing!!
Suppose you want to search for a topic "Impact of cultural diversity in the workplace. " You could type (Impact or result* or effect* or consequence*) and (cultural diversity or multiculturalism) and (workplace or office*)

Had my first tutorial of the sem today. It was horrendous. The tutor reminded me of David Mayor my Yr one maths tutor who spoke to himself. So we went to Jamen's 21st Birthday party yesterday, even though the actual date was today. Happy Birthday!! Coincidences of coincidences, I saw Edger, he was in charge of the catering for his birthday. Then I saw Raymond, he was his trainee and Jamen was his trainer in OCS. What a small world. He went to a lot of camps, so most of us were from NUS. It was like infested with people from NUS!! NUS INFESTATION! arrghhhz.
Anyway, there was the cake smashing face ceremony, where his biological brothers did the smashing first, and the rest of his (fake)brothers just followed. He had a nice dye of blonde from the cake at the end of the event. Oh ya after that he requested that we do the Estascy cheer. He's nuts. We did it anyway, since it was his birthday and he wanted it. Oh well, only NUS students are crazy enough to do cheers outside of school. That time we did it with my engin camp peeps at Orchard, in front of Ngee Ann City. haha.
Found out that Lionel is running for MC. He's crazy, 7 modules, Design project, Job at starbucks, gf commitments. How the hell is he going to juggle all those balls?! Then we like had a mini celebration for Hj since her birthday was the week before. She's like so fake suprise. Anyway we sang really softly in case the real birthday boy heard us singing the song. It was damn funny.
So this marks the end of week 2! Week 3 is going to be tough when tutorials starts coming in and portsmouth encounter middlesbrough. I hope David James maintains his clean sheet. That's besides the point. It's going to be a frenzy I predicted, like snakes on a plane going around bitting people on a plane. The post orientation high inside me is dying. I feel like a normal, depressed student mugging on the brown bench of the NUS corridors again. All the snakes of Arabia will not frenzy this little student. Ok fine, enough of Lame jokes that ain't funny.

The Prof said that..
There are two things you can't get enough of money and sleep. ~ Christina low, my Materials professor. She's an infinitely wise woman, who's funny at times. She complains to us! haha, like how she use to earn more money than her hubby now he earns more, then she gave a sighz, adding that it's the love that counts doesn't it? It's so funny, the way she says it.

random disparate thoughts.
I realised I'm incapable of leaving this spot on hiatus. So here I am writing stuff.
Honeymoon period is almost over.In case you didn't know, honeymoon period is the period in NUS where there are no tutorials and everything is still fun and games and post orientation feeling settles. After this saturday, I vow to start mugging hard. Cos tutorials are starting next week and they shouldn't be so terribly hard to do if you put your mind to it.

The pink ping pong ball story!!
There's an eight-year old boy named James, who's the only son of a very wealthy widower.
A few days before James' ninth birthday, his father comes to him and says, "James, your birthday's next week. You can have absolutely anything in the world you want. What will it be?"
"Well, Dad," says James, "I'd like a pink ping-pong ball."
"A what?" says his dad.
"A pink ping-pong ball," repeats James.
So, James' dad gives a non-commital response and walks away. Since a pink ping-pong ball is hardly a fitting birthday gift, he goes out that day and buys the fastest, neatest bicycle he can possibly fine.
On James' birthday, his dad gives him the bike. And he really loves it. He rides it all around the grounds of their mansion, and really has a blast. But, what he really wanted was that pink ping-pong ball.
Soon enough, it's the week before James' twelfth birthday. Again, his father comes to him and asks what he'd like.
"Well, Dad," says James, "I'd really like a pink ping-pong ball."
"Are you sure there isn't something else you'd like?" asks his dad.
"No, I really just want a pink ping-pong ball."
So again his father gives a non-commital response, and goes away.
On his birthday this year, James receives a brand-new, next-generation video game system and a copy of every game published for it. James loves the crap out of that video game, and plays it constantly for weeks on end. But, even as he's kicking alien ass, he can't help but feel a little disappointed that he didn't get his pink ping-pong ball.
Three days before James' sixteenth birthday, his father comes to him and asks what he'd like.
"Well, Dad," says James, "I'd really like a pink ping-pong ball."
"You ask for that every year, James. And, I'm not getting it for you. It's not a fitting birthday gift," says his father somewhat angrily.
James' father rushes out that day, goes to the dealership, and buys his son an absolutely top-of-the-line Ferrari. He brings it home and hands James the keys.
James really loves the car, and drives it everywhere for years. He gets into street racing, and wins not a few of his challenges. But, as much fun as the sportscar is, he really wishes he could have just gotten the pink ping-pong ball.
On James' twenty-first birthday, his father again comes to him and asks that fateful question.
"Well, Dad," says James, "What I'd really like is a pink ping-pong ball."
"Absolutely not, James!" his father roars, "That's not a birthday present fit for my boy. I'm retiring soon, and you'll be made head of the company. What kind of a chairman asks for ping-pong balls? On James' birthday, his dad gives him the bike. And he really loves it. He rides it all around the grounds of their mansion, and really has a blast. But, what he really wanted was that pink ping-pong ball.
Soon enough, it's the week before James' twelfth birthday. Again, his father comes to him and asks what he'd like.
"Well, Dad," says James, "I'd really like a pink ping-pong ball."
"Are you sure there isn't something else you'd like?" asks his dad.
"No, I really just want a pink ping-pong ball."
So again his father gives a non-commital response, and goes away.
On his birthday this year, James receives a brand-new, next-generation video game system and a copy of every game published for it. James loves the crap out of that video game, and plays it constantly for weeks on end. But, even as he's kicking alien ass, he can't help but feel a little disappointed that he didn't get his pink ping-pong ball.
Three days before James' sixteenth birthday, his father comes to him and asks what he'd like.
"Well, Dad," says James, "I'd really like a pink ping-pong ball."
"You ask for that every year, James. And, I'm not getting it for you. It's not a fitting birthday gift," says his father somewhat angrily.
James' father rushes out that day, goes to the dealership, and buys his son an absolutely top-of-the-line Ferrari. He brings it home and hands James the keys.
James really loves the car, and drives it everywhere for years. He gets into street racing, and wins not a few of his challenges. But, as much fun as the sportscar is, he really wishes he could have just gotten the pink ping-pong ball.
On James' twenty-first birthday, his father again comes to him and asks that fateful question.
"Well, Dad," says James, "What I'd really like is a pink ping-pong ball."
"Absolutely not, James!" his father roars, "That's not a birthday present fit for my boy. I'm retiring soon, and you'll be made head of the company. What kind of a chairman asks for ping-pong balls? Go to Chez Michael in the city. Your birthday party is there. Open bar, and I've already invited all of your friends."
So James goes to his party and has a really excellent time, drinking and dancing with his friends. But, the whole time he wishes his dad had just gotten him a pink ping-pong ball.
Well, on his way home from the party, James, not a little drunk, runs his speeding Ferrari into an oak tree. He's thrown through the windshield, and out onto the highway. A passing motorist calls 911, and the police and EMS show up rather quickly. The EMTs have a look at James and realize they can't move him, and that the boy's going to die soon.
They call James' father, and tell him the horrible news. He drives like a bat out of hell and within minutes, he's arrived at the scene. Tears streak down his face as he kneels next to his son.
"James," he says, "I love you."
"I love you too, Dad," says James.
"There's one thing I have to know," says his father, "Why did you always ask for a pink ping-pong ball?"
"Well, Dad," says James, "I'll tell you--"
At that moment, James dies.

Get well soon.
Every one around me is getting sick!There seem to be a bug going around. My friend's uncle is in ICU. One complain of diarrhea , I could never spell that word correctly, I had to send him off by taxi. Another complain of mensual cramps of which I didn't ask further, another has flu that makes him wanna die. And mom is sick, I feel terrible seeing her in that condition. Anyway, get well soon everybody. I've been getting nose bleeds. I think I saw too many chio bus in Engin le. Usually, it's the chiobus that see me that get nose bleed. haha..
Oh ya today's Ellson's birthday! Happy Birthday! I saw him at the busstop today. He was with three girls!! and his hair is Ahbeng Brown!! woah!! Too much stress le, I think.He told me he was sick too, needed some rest. What's up with the world!?! Why is everyone sick!?

First week over.
First week is finally over, it felt more enjoyable than it actually is. I'm still hovering in a who-really-cares-it's-not- the-exams-yet- and-the-tutorials-have- not-yet-started-mood. The pioneer batch of ES freshies are stressing me out.They're doing tutorials already. Well not really, I just feel pity for them. They have their own classroom at the top of the Bus B & C bus stop.It feels like a god forsaken place as there are old chairs and cobwebs all over.But the room is totally inhabitable.The only thing that bugs me is that they're completely isolated having all lectures and tutorials on their own, in that classroom. It's like a more specialised group than Ise or Eve. The only time they get to go out is when they're going for lunch or whatever. Ok they're not so pathetic, i'm exaggerating. Ya I realised that the new batch of common Engin freshmen are taking MLE1101, which we didn't take and I heard the yr3 Chem engin ppl are taking. I think that's to allow them to stream into Materials/ES ba. But IMHO, it's a waste of time!! Luckily I wasn't their batch, or I'd suffer taking extra modules.

Sat down, and realised I've not been reading the news. Suddenly the words, Lebanon Israeli, ceasefire bush AIDS birdflu Iran doesn't mean anything. Am I so indifferent to the world around me? The only thing that registers is EPL new season. Even though I'm not really into EPL, or soccer for the matter of fact, the three lecturemates that will be together with me in sch talks about them 24-7. So it's absolutely essential to know football. Suddenly soccer becomes not a word but a religion. Scary.

I always have 5 boring modules and 1 interesting one. The one being Human resource, a business module. Basically, in my opinion, non-Engin modules are always the most interesting. So the moral of the story is, take more cross faculty modules! Get to know more babes some more! So it's really a good deal! Oh ya, this sem we have a female lecturer for an Engin mod, and she speaks a slightly accented british english. Every thing she says is in perfect English sentences, which make the lecture very lengthy. I think she spoke more words in one lecture than I did an entire day. But I think she's really good. She created this competition thingy to win free books which is to tell in 50 words or less one thing you'd bring to a deserted island. I wrote an entry. Go check the forum. Guess which one is mine!!

Over dinner at Marina , where the prawns were cooked live and it's ever so disgusting to see them die, the OG was discussing about scandals fuelled by our resident scandal makers the purple light buddies. Anyway, I think we had nothing better to talk about either. We saw another group, yeehan's grp there. What coincidence! I digressed. I think girls would remain largely clueless about the who likes her until he actually makes a move. But it's really up to the girl to think if she wants to choose him or not.Fred was right that people who are attached don't go onto msn often. Going out commitments I guess. IMHO, talking about r/s mentally dummfies and delogifies a person. Why can't we all be friends?
On another note, our design proj clashed with some other group who's leader I absolutely abhor. And we have the same consultation tutor. Gawd The idea of me and that guy in a small confined area absolutely churns my stomach. I'm gonna go puke now.

~Happy birthday to me~!
Yesterday was fun, I managed to catch four out of five of my eye candies. That's like 80%!! One had long hair, even though I don't think it looked nice on her.I still preferred her with short hair though. One cut her hair, but I think she looked better with her longs. Ahh haha.Bascially they shouldn't have changed their hairstyle.
We were in Macs for a project meeting and I must say it is a really ideal location to stake out. Lots of people stream pass there every minute. I was still on a high after those apple shooters Paul made me drink the night before. I had to down two cups of caffeine before I regain control of my fours. Then it was lecture lecture and more lectures. Didn't get the nussu diary, maybe the school cut it's budget on the diaries. I remember last year, the people were practically begging us to take the diaries. This year there was a shortage. hmm.. Oh ya I got a cake from Miss Zhang! she's so nice, even though I think the cake tasted really bad. haha. Don't buy the cake from Deli's!! I think I quite BHB, go around telling ppl it's my birthday. Haha.. But hor leo wad. it's natural for leos to be Bhb.

I'm so freaking bored!!! So i'm blogging.
Another year at School of hogwarts, nothing feels different, Everything feels the same. I feel so energized by the mass influx of freshies who are ever so eager to learn. Asking for directions, unblemished by the rest of the school's population.And ya new friends and new eye candies!!! *** is damn cute la.But there's nothing like rain to dampen all the mood. Because you can't take shortcuts and have to walk thru the long winding sheltered pathways to make you even shagger.
There are certain traits about school that'll you'll come to learn about, Bazaars, Milo trucks, unconventional advertisement hung artistically all over the place, like this sem we had Giant paper cranes(really!) all over school. From NUS breakers. (break records one), and the throngs of people that walk by you every minute during lunch time, making you feel so incessantly insignificantly small. And the queue for the freebies is so freaking long!
We were in Arts after our game of badminton, then there were these four girls sitting beside us. okay the one sitting closest to me is quite chio. Anyway, then another 2 girls came and the 6 skinny girls shared the table. Like erm. WTf! They were so squeezy that I decided to eat faster so they can take my seat. I so good can.
This sem is so stressed. I don't know. It's like the first week and I'm already discussing about 1 presentation and 1 project.
I miss oweeeeek! I miss the freshies.. I miss everyone! I'm feeling so lonely right now. Suddenly I have the urge to call them up for an outing.

First day!!
Okay day of school, didn't go engin so didn't had to say hi-s alot. HR is damn fun la. Still wondering if I should add my project mates. They're like so hall-y (Hall friendly) It's kinda creepy.
I liked going to orientation. You get to act friendly and all to all the people without thinking they have ulterior motive and you can get to know a lot more people and teach the unknowing freshies stuff. Kinda like the xiaomeis and xiao dis you never had. In real life, you act friendly and they think you want something from them.

Happy national day!
yay, Today is national day! I should say "Happy Birthday Singapore!!" yay!
No plans. It's rather nice to stay home for once and slack around.
Nus flag day yesterday. People were flying around asking for donations. There must be millions of us around. Everywhere you go there are NUS students asking for donations.Went to hongkah market thinking it would be empty. But there were already people from other faculty feeding on the poor aunties and uncles. Said hi to a few girls from other faculties. haha. There's this girl from nursing, she's uber cute, didn't get her name though. She said see you around!! **Heart melts..** Anyway, I never really liked to flag. You have to be super thick skinned to ask people to donate. At one point, I took it a point to ask everyone. I think people must be frustrated to be asked again and again for donations that they eventually donated. If I were them, I'd say," GO away." "Dun bother me!" "You suck!" or something to that extend. We stopped at around 2pm. But at 9pm there were still people asking for donations. Therefore I hereby conclude that Engineering is in fact a slacker's faculty. Anyway. No wonder faculties with less people flagging wins Eng in flag. haha.

I was on the bus just now and it felt like everything had left me. I was feeling all alone, like the feeling of impending dementors coming to get you. Then I realised I wasnt alone. There were people on the bus looking stoned from work or school all watching some English guy cook on Tvmobile as if they wanted to know how to cook the food. I had always hated the smell of JC/ Sec students. I don't understand how they can smell the way they are. I guessed I was one of them too, except I never took a bus to school, all my schools were within walking distance. There's even a sign board near my place with all my three schools on it. Primary, secondary and JC. I took out my Mp3 player to ease the loneliness.
Now whoever said that no man's an island never actually owned an ipod Nano before, when you can just plug in and zone out. Who needs the world, when you're an island.
